Hello Brothers and Sisters:

I have been a wireman and IBEW member for 25 years. When work has been slow at my home local I have traveled to different states and locals. When looking for information on current and upcoming work I gathered information but it was hard to keep track of it all. So I started making spreadsheets.

I found that keeping track of passed calls could help me determine which Halls had books where moving and decide on what halls to sign. With this in mind UEIN was formed with the help of some friends.

Here is how the tabs were formed.

Home

Have to start somewhere.

Register

Keeps the information in the brother hood, just your LU # and Card Number.

Call

Where are the calls, what type, and how long, and are they getting to book 2?
(Click on the cells with the red triangles for detailed information)

The Books How many inside wireman are on the book 1 and 2 at each local, and each district?

Wage Package
How much will my take home be? (Minus Local dues, Vacation, etc)
Dispatch Rules

When can I sign in and when & how do I resign, and is the local a day book, or call dispatch.

State License

Do I need a State license and will it recip or do I have to test and how much are the fees?
And how many CUs do I need each year?

Local information

We start going to web sites at 6PM west coast time and start calling hot lines at 9PM (free calls) and try to have the calls posted by 10PM, If we had more resources and callers we could do all the locals. Right now it takes about an hour to contact the Locals.

Our primary goal here at UEIN is to provide you the Union Electrician with as much information as we can regarding Job Calls, Local Information, and State Licensing Requirements.

UEIN is also a place where you can exchange ideas and information with other Union Electricians across the country in the UEIN message boards. The UEIN Business Directory is also available so you can search the directory to find what you need quickly and easily with our categorized business listings. Companies can list their business profile and update it whenever need be.  Each listing features the ability for the company to post their business name, contact information, logo, photograph’s and details about their services or products for a nominal fee.
